OnShare
We worked extensively on the architecture, design, and production of a secure ‘friend to friend’ file-sharing product called OnShare. We contributed to the client application’s interface design, as well as server technologies and encryption algorithms.
In developing the server technologies, we translated Delphi RSA and Blowfish encryption algorithms in to PHP in order to ensure interoperability (think big vs. little-endian, if you appreciate that sort of thing) between the Delphi client and the PHP application servers.
We also developed a custom server application, written in Python, that helped clients circumvent any firewalls or NAT systems, facilitating communication between clients. This application was stress tested to over 20,000 simultaneous connections and has subsequently been running 24/7 & 365 days of the year.
We implemented monitoring and alerting systems for all mission-critical facets of the OnShare service and developed an extensive administrative system. This allowed OnShare to launch new versions of the client software, monitor real-time metrics of the systems and run extensive reports in order to facilitate marketing analysis.
